Matt Atkinson’s ketchup crusade began in 2008 when, whilst enjoying a drink beside a roaring fire with Peter Cartmell, founder of Westmorland Damson Association in Crosthwaite (Damson Country!) he was handed a local recipe book. He spotted an old recipe for Damson Ketchup and curiosity tickled he made a small batch at home. He offered it to friends…and they liked it!

Matt established his own small production kitchen in 2015 where he uses local damsons to create his unique and original damson ketchup and in 2016 he won the Savoury Condiment Category in the Great British Food Magazine Awards.
