Ginger Bakers produce an inspiring array of cakes and bakes using the freshest ingredients, locally sourced where possible and always free range eggs. They were established in 2006 when Lisa Smith began baking cakes from her home kitchen and selling them at the local farmers markets. With passion and creative drive, she worked tirelessly to create something with a difference and to make an impression on the growing vibrant local food scene. Cumbria was able to offer a wealth of fabulous ingredients, which are still an integral part of their recipes.
They have had plenty of adventures along the way and pride themselves on how they can roll with the highs and lows. Back in December 2015 Lisa found the bakery waist deep in water after the devastating Storm Desmond hit Cumbria. With incredible team spirit and amazing community support they managed to find alternative accommodation and were baking again within a week!
